PSI Phenomenon: Psychokinesis. Ryan has powerful, if a bit wild, psychokinetic abilities. He can move things with his mind. This can be as simple as flipping a coin and suspending it in mid air to boiling water just by concentrating. These powers also manifest themselves when he's under severe stress or when he's having a powerful emotional experience.

Outward Appearence: Ryan is somewhat lanky and resembles a scarecrow. He almost always looks like his mind is somewhere else and there's a powerful sadness to his expression when he thinks nobody's looking. A scar on his left shoulder marks the place he was shot, he obviously tries to keep it covered at all times.

Outward Personality: Ryan is a dreamer. If there's a window he must stare outside and see what the clouds look like. He can spend hours contemplating triangles, the color green, or the meaning of the word "it". He has a problem with authority and can be very sarcastic at times. When he's in a talkative mood he can be very friendly, but when he talks he invariably ends up saying too much and remembering some painful memory.

Inward Personality: Even though he appears sad and angry, and he has more than his share of both emotions, Ryan is mostly scared. Not scared of what other people will do but of himself and what he might be capable of doing. He's deathly afraid of losing controll of his powers and hurting someone again (see background). It would take alot to get him to use his powers against someone again since he can't stand the idea of hurting any living creature. Because of all this he doesn't like to show much emotion but feels love, hate, sadness, joy, fear, etc. very strongly, even though it isn't always obvious.

Background: Ryan was born to a catholic family in Belfast Ireland, perhaps one of the worse places to grow up. Both his parents were militant extremists and tried to teach him to hate but he never seemed to "get it". One day when he was 12, Ryan asked his father why they couldn't just make peace with the protestants, his answer came in the form of a beating; the subject never came up again. The boy quickly lost any faith in a greater power he had after that day. When he was 15, Ryan saw both his parents shot and killed in a skirmish on the street and he lost it. Picking up a gun he just started shooting and blacked out. Two days, and three dead police officers later, he woke up in a hospital room. For the next year Ryan would be serving a life sentence for the violent deaths of 3 officers and it's in that school that he discovered his abilities. A particularly annoying bully was picking on him, trying to get him to fight. When he finaly pushed too far Ryan exploded, not physicaly, but mentaly... the other boy suffered 3rd degree burns to over 90% of his body and died on the way to the hospital. Not long after this incident Ryan was taken out of the reform school and put into Project Orpheus.
