Setsuna/Sailor Pluto |
|
As Meiou Setsuna (“moment dark ruler”) in the Japanese original, Trista is probably one of the most enigmatic figures in the series. She has profound effects on the events of the series, but most of it is behind-the-scenes.
She appears as the oldest of all the Sailor Soldiers, although her true age is unknown. She loves shopping and has an interest in fashion design. But her chief responsibility as the Guardian of Time is the maintenance of the Timeline, making her reluctant to change the future. Rini calls her Puu and the two seem to have a special relationship. With Michiru and Haruka, she helps to raise the reborn infant Hotaru after the defeat of Pharoah Ninety. Yet, for the most part, she keeps herself distant from the group. |

As the Guardian of Time, Sailor Pluto has the daunting duty of protecting the Timeline. This makes her reluctant to change the future, but she will if the circumstances are dire enough. As she has during parts of the series.
It is Sailor Pluto who sends Rini back in the past to search for help for Crystal Tokyo and communicates with the girl through the Luna P Ball. She allows the Inner Sailor Soldiers and Tuxedo Mask to travel through the Gate of Time to reach the future. During the battle with the Silent Messiah, she freezes time to allow Sailors Uranus and Neptune to escape from a helicopter. Throughout the series and into the future, she is romantically unattached and has no children. She doesn’t have a great effect on the events of Jupiter’s Gone. However, it is possible that she and Cassandra have met before. [Author’s Note: Sailor Pluto plays a larger role in the Saga of Sailor Sol.] |
