Of a Certain Age It is well known that a Southern woman of a certain age is in want of a husband.
Apparently the clock starts ticking sometime around puberty. By the end of high school or most definitely college, the clock starts blaring. By mid-twenties, the clock starts screaming. Or at least it should, if most of my friends and acquaintances are any sign. I can count on one hand how many are never married. All the others have tied the knot. Several have reproduced. A few have divorced. Why the pressure to get married so early in life? I really don’t know. I guess it’s a Southern thing. But I’ll continue to stay content as I am. Single. |
