However, until she is needed, the Celestial Phoenix remains a dormant part of the person she has been reborn as, becoming a different person with each new life. Celeste Halley is the present day incarnation of Sailor Sol. She did not become aware of her past until after the initial attack by Gypsum and Galena. She has regained most of her memories through visions and dreams. While growing up, Celeste has had several encounters with death and grief. When she was twelve, her parents were killed in a boating accident while celebrating their fifteenth wedding aniversary. Due to the death of her grandparents and the fact that her parents were both only children, Celeste was eventually placed in the care of her great aunt, Grace Holland. However, Aunt Grace died one month after Celeste's high school graduation. Since both her parents and Aunt Grace had established sizable trust funds for her, Celeste has no real financial worries. The family lawyer, Mr. McClelland, has to approve of any major withdrawals and periodically checks up on Celeste. The building supervisor's wife, Mrs. Johansen, has also taken on the role of watching over Celeste. Because of the hurt she has experienced, Celeste is very reluctant to have any relationship with people. However, once she cares for someone, it is a deep commitment. She also has a strong sense of duty, making her willing to sacrifice her life to fulfill the obligations she has as Sol. |
