***** - Brother, Dear Brother by Ikeda Riyoko
Format: Anime TV Series
Genre: Drama
Fansubbed by: The Techno Girls
Plot: A coming of age drama about an elite all-girls high school. Nanako is the new girl at school. Almost immediately, she is plunged head first into a mysterious web of secrets. Jealousies, love triangles, and teen suicides abound in this emotionally charged story.
High Points: Brother, Dear Brother is truly a work of art. You totally forget that it's even animated. The character development is very good and the drama is very intense. The animation takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you do it's beautiful.
Low Points: The only thing I can say is a low point is that this anime won't appeal to most fans. The best analogy I can make right now is to Jane Eyre, only Brother, Dear Brother is a modern story. It's dramatic and brooding without blood and guts. I think this is great, but others may not like it.
