Brock pondered his new found feelings as he crunched his way through the
forest. Actually, they were not 'new' so much as actually discovered that
he had always felt like this. Throughout their journey he had been in
denial, and over-compensated with his blatant ogling of any pretty girl
that came his way. Ironically, it ended up being the person right
underneath his nose that he most loved. He sped up the pace a little as
he began to hurry back to camp.

He smiled in absolute exultation. His soul felt free of self-deception
for the first time in months. "I've got to tell h- OOF!" He smacked into
a tree.

He stood up and rubbed his abused nose. "Why can I never see properly?"
he said aloud. Then he suddenly thought of something. Glorious light
filtered into his vision.

"Amazing! All this time I only had to open my eyes!"

Misty was sitting down and was also thinking about her new-found
feelings. For probably the hundredth time she had been trying to catch
Ash's attention. But being the admittedly, immature brat that he was, he
hadn't noticed at all. She had asked him if the full moon that was coming
in, looked romantic, but Ash had only looked at it, farted, then burst
out laughing with his little rat, Pikachu.

Now she looked over to him, over the other side of the campfire, as he
was unrolling his sleeping bag. He was certainly cute. But she had just
realised something for the first time. She didn't want cuteness, she
wanted maturity. She gasped. She wanted Brock! She couldn't wait until he
got back from bringing some more firewood from the woods so she could
tell him.

She imagined it out in her mind.

Should I say, "Brock, you're so handsome, I never realised it before.
Let's get married?"

Nah, too corny.

How about, "Open your eyes for once! I'm more female than Jenny or Joy
could ever be!"

No, it should be the guy who asks. She would never live it down from her
sisters if *she* was the one making the proposal. She would have to act
dumb and sort of lead him along until he said exactly what she wanted.

In her fantasy, Brock came walking in with a stack of firewood (the Brock
in her fantasy had a face that looked a bit too much like Ash, and had
bulging muscles). Misty would tell him to sit down next to her, then
she would tantalisingly undress herself saying that she was feeling a bit
hot. Then Brock would be all red in the face as he stared at her and
compliment her. Finally, not being able to control himself, he would jump
her and give passionate kisses ...

Ash sneezed, interrupting her fantasy.

Misty narrowed her eyes at him. But first she had to somehow get rid of
Ash. She was about to open her mouth to do just that, when Brock came
storming in the campsite, creating a lot of noise as he arrived. Misty
immediately stuck her foot out to trip him over.

"Woah!" Brock exclaimed, as he fell down by her side. Misty reclined back
on her sleeping bag, lifting a slender arm to scratch the back of her
head invitingly.

"Oh Bro-ock," she said throatily. "What took you so long?"

"Brock!" Ash yelled, making Brock turn around to him instead. Misty
cursed. "Didn't you say you were going to get some more firewood?" the
brat continued.

"Oh Ash! Never mind that! I've just discovered something truly amazing!"
Then he looked a bit uncomfortable and turned to Misty. "But let me talk
to Misty for a few seconds. It's important." He looked at her, his
slitted eyes boring into hers, or at least, that's what Misty hoped since
she couldn't tell.

Oh, wow! she suddenly thought. He must be going to ask me out!

Brock held her hands in his own rough, callused grip. "Misty," he
whispered. "I think I've fallen in love ..."

"Oh Brock!" Misty sighed throatily.

"All those times I ogled Joy, Jenny and all the other beautiful girls, I
never knew I was covering up what I really wanted." He stared at her.
"When it was right underneath my nose." His voice sent shivers of delight
down her spine.

Misty fell back in a swoon. "I knew it! When do you want to get married?"

Brock also sighed dreamily as he combed his spiky brown hair with his
fingers. "I knew you'd understand ... but do you think they'll let us get
married?"

"Of course they will! We just need a special license and ..."

"Do you think he'll agree?"

Misty paused as she sat up. "He?"

"It's just that he's so cute, I never realised it before," Brock
continued, his face flushed with love. "Do you think really think that
he'll go for it? That he swings that way?"

"He?" Misty repeated, her voice growing louder by the second.

Brock got up and suddenly dived at Ash. "Ash Ketchum, I love you!"

THE END

*********************

Sorry about that folks ^_^. It's just that there's been a lot of AAMRN
bashing lately, and I just can't see a Brock & Misty couple ever
happening. Feel free to disagree of course...

For the record, I do not hate Brock, I think he is a cool character, but
he isn't one of my faves. Ash, Misty, James, (Evil) Sabrina and Duplica
have that honour ^_^;;

As for my other stories, I'm working on them, just that my holidays have
made me even busier than I was when I had to go to school! o_0
