An Anime and Manga Shopper's Guide to Honolulu by Dennis Fukushim (revised 10/11/95) Author's note: I want to make clear that I do not in anyway support the following businesses, their practices, nor their products. I am merely providing a listing service for the benefit of the public at large, and to promote Japanese animation in general. There are those who wish to profit off of the hard work of others, and many do this illegally. For the sake of the owners/businesses involved, I have purposely omitted information that concerns the infringement of copyrights. I will leave that issue for the consumer/copyright holder/patron to solve, and the ultimate decision of monetary support up to the consumer. As of the creation of this document, there is no official listing of Japanese animations released legally in the United States that I know of, nor have I found any documentation of what is appropriate/acceptable behavior of a consumer when dealing with national/international copyrights. All I can suggest to the responsible consumer is to ask questions until you feel comfortable with your decision. They do have titles that other places don't have however, and once in a while you'll come across a real bargain. My friends picked up Tenchi Mu yo 1-7 for $11 each. They were used, but the discs were flawless, the jackets were in good condition, and they had all of the liner notes in perfect condition.
