What is anime?[アニメ わ 何 ですか？](Anime wa nan desu ka?)
Anime(Ah*nee*may): Japanese term for animation, borrowed from originally from the French, and is a booming business in both Japan(Nippon) and North America(U.S.A & Canada), being as thrilling as the action flicks there. All types of flicks are supported through three separate mediums: TV episodes, Original Video Animation (OVA), and full length feature films. While anime varies in quality according to both production techniques and artistic merit, the level of sophistication is, in general, far superior, enhanced, and emotion-filled to it's counterpart outside Japan, the 'cartoon'(based mainly in the U.S.). Much like any other entertainment medium, anime can range from the very silly to the very serious, and is not necessarily intended for children or any specific age group.
The story behind the story
In summary, NEON GENESIS EVANGELION (or known as SHIN-SEIKI EVANGELION)
has 26 episodes and two movies, full of marvelous character designs as well as development,
and the way of the series developing. One of the more interesting facts about
this series is that the manga artist Yamashita Ikuto, who designed Gainax's superb mecha structures
and boasts the sense of realism, and also worked on GUNBUSTER
and SECRET OF BLUE WATER. The unique traits are also found within TOP O NERAE! GUNBUSTER, FUSHIGI
NO UMI NO NADIA, OURITSU UCHUUGUN - HONNEAMISE NO TSUBASA, OTAKU NO VIDEO, and of course, SHIN-SEIKI
EVANGELION. SHIN-SEIKI EVANGELION definitely holds up to being a great successor to TOP O NERAE,
GUNBUSTER, and SECRET OF BLUE WATER. I find that it would join the great ranks of ground-
breaking mecha shows like SUPER DIMENSIONAL FORTRESS MACROSS, and MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM.

Gainax's story[ガイナクシュ の 経緯]
Gainax is one of Japan's legendary animation departments, who created several short series',
movies, and autobiographical documentaries of otakus. However, Gainax's artistry wasn't the
cause of several awards won in Japan and in the United States, but The plot in each story
sets the characters into outlandish situations, and often deals with coping to human behavior and
personal sacrifices. Basically, this is what really sets the difference between the quality of
Gainax's productions with the rest of the crowd. It deals with everyday situations, and
deals with the inner-sanctums of the human heart.
Prologue;the Second Impact[セコンドーイムパクド]
The official version in the history book states that at the 20th century a giant meteorite fell and landed
at the Antartic continent, melting the Polar Ice Caps as well as changing the Earth axis, with it's effects
being the increase of the water level and destruction of all coastal cities. After such events, items like
abnormal weather, economical collapse, racial conflicts as well as civil war occured, killing half the human race.
In truth, a UN(United Nations) research team found a large humanoid on Antartica's surface named Angels (This first one being
named ADAM and "Shito"[使徒] being Angel's japanese counterpart) which exploded for unknown reasons,
causing the Polar Ice Caps to melt and beginning the Second Impact.
NERV created in defense[ネルフ]
After the Second Impact, humankind began recovering and was intent on making sure that the Second Impact would never happen,
had the UN set up a special secret agency called NERV, responsible for the study and annihilation of Angels.
The headquarters were set up in the geofront below the fortress city Tokyo 3. 15 years after that a humanoid fighting "machine"
named EVANGELION(EVA for short) was developed and created for fighting the Angels in mind. Unfortunately, for some reason the
pilots can only be the children who were born after the Second Impact, being 14 by then, and requires heavy training. Two pilots,
Ayanami Rei and Souryu Asuka Langley, are the only ones trained, and a third suitable pilot, Ikari Shinji, who is without training,
as well that there were still more secrets the Evangelion has not taught....
Other subjects
Third Impact[ツフルドドーイムパクド](Possible)
The Third Impact is supposed to happen when the Angels comes into contact with the first Angel, ADAM, which is sleeping underground
at Tokyo-3, will annihilate all humanity. This can be stopped by the EVANGELION, which has the same power as an Angel, but the
EVANGELION can ALSO begin the Third Impact if in contact with ADAM.
