More Info: Story Synopsis, Characters, MechanicsOne of the products of Sunrise's twentieth anniversary "Big Bang Project," this is a new animated television series thyat debuted in April 1999. It's directed by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, with character designs by Capcom's Akira Yasuda (Street Fighter II), mecha designs by veteran Kunio Okawara and guest Westerner Syd Mead (of Blade Runner fame), and music by Yoko Kanno (Macross Plus, Escaflowne).
The
of the title, which you're instructed to read as "Turn A," is a logical symbol called the "universal quantifier," which means "for all the elements of a set." Thus, the title suggests that this series is intended to encompass all two decades of the Gundam saga, even the recent "alternate universe" stories.
