>>(One question: does HT utilize the MPEG card if
present? The first time you start after booting up, the "host" Hanagumi
member says something about a video card. Does anyone know what it is?<<
Yes, if you have the MPEG card it gets rid of the jerkiness in the video clips
and smooths out the frame rate dramatically. Steam Radio Show also utilizes it
for the Kayou Show highlight disc (disc 2). Incidentally, many of the scenes on
the Kayou Show disc play out differently there than in the video release- the
clips were either recorded during a dress rehearsal, or were recorded during
the other performance (there were two). The battle with Sakura and Sumire
versus the thugs is a bit more entertaining in the disc version <g>.
>>This was a real treat for me, because I've always wondered
what they looked like and what their normal voices were. Michie Tomizama
especially was a nice surprise. Very Sumire-type! "Oh ho ho ho ho ho!" ^_^<<
Hey, Tomizawa is HUGE in the seiyuu world- the character of Sumire isn't too
far from her own personality <g>. I've seen one of her live concerts (the
"Voice" concert) and she's rather dynamic, to say the least <g>. And loves the
fans who love her in return. Of course, there's one interview on the Video
Bromide where she and the dead-cute Kumiko Nishihara are talking together, and
unfortunately, Michie yammers on and won't let poor Kumiko get a word in
edgewise <g>.
>> I haven't really gone through much of Steam Radio Show yet. From what I
can tell, there are a lot of movie clips from the live action musical. The
"Radio Show" part is like a mini-scenario. You get to choose on of the
Hanagumi as a DJ, and you go through the standard LIPS interaction. Each
member has a new minigame, and there's a poetry minigame, where Sakura
reads part of a poem and you have to choose the right phrase to complete
it. I'm pretty sure that all of this (and more, of course) is on the first
disc, because I don't think I've touched the second disc yet. I may have
seen only about 20-30% of everything in Steam Radio Show.<<
Radio Show is a MUCH better fan compilation than Tsushin- Tsushin was sort of
"rushed out" to fill in the fan demand for more Sakura Taisen stuff hot on the
heels of the first game, and it shows in the synchronization. Still, it's full
of nice info and is a must-have.
BTW, the clips from the Kayou Show are all on disc 2; Disk 1 is the minigames
and a very nice, complex "dating game" hosted by the Sannin that will be
available after you successfully finish all the radio programs- which also will
give you added info about the girls as well as lead in to who he takes to see
the debut of the Teigeki's "Ai Yueni" movie <g>. It's a more complex and
detailed version of the dating game featured in Tsushin. The highlights for me
in the radio show include the "commercials" for Kanzaki Heavy Industry, and
some of the "products" that were featured in episode 5 of the first game. There
are also a number of excellent "bonus features" that show up if you just let
the "attract modes" run- these differ frequently, and shouldn't be missed.
Radio Show is feature-packed and you can spend hours and hours on it- another
exceptional value for the money.
