Basic IRC Commands

----- Here is a brief list of some basic IRC commands.  The command you type is in italics and the result is next to it.  Examples and all.  'Nick' is your nickname or the nickname of someone else, whatever it may be.  #channel is replaced with the channel name.

• /me some action
  • Example: /me is typing this.
  • Result:  *Nick types this.  (Appears in purple text on mIRC)
    
• /sound filename.wav  OR  filename.mid
  • Result:  If you have the sound file in your mIRC directory (or wherever you set to keep sound files) it will play and also any one else in the channel will hear the sound, provided they have it on their computer.
    
• /msg nick message_here
  • Example: /msg Nick Hi there.
  • Result:  This will send a private message to the person who's nickname you specified.
    
• /notice nick message_here
  • Example: /notice Nick Hi there.
  • Result:  This is another form of a private message.
