Art Gallery - Magazines, Books, & Programs

Animage Magazine - September 1999: Unfortunately, I don't have a clue what these pages say. If you can translate them, let me know. Fame, fortune, and glory await you. OK, not the fortune part. (Note: The pages are in order from right to left, as they appeared in the original Japanese magazine.)

AX Magazine - July 2000: As in the case of the above magazine scans, I cannot read the text on these images. If you can translate, let me know. The images on the first and second pages were made into a poster by Movic at some point, but I have yet to find one. (Note: The pages are in order from right to left, as they appeared in the original Japanese magazine.)

Japanese Premiere Program: These programs were available for purchase at the world premiere showings of the Escaflowne movie in Japan. I have not scanned the entire program — many of the pages were text only, while others displayed images already available elsewhere on this web site. The last page is perforated and made of light cardboard, so that the pictures can be used as postcards. (Note: The pages are in order from right to left, as they appeared in the original Japanese program.)

Anime Expo 2000 Movie Premiere Program: These programs were handed out at the North American premiere of the Escaflowne movie at Anime Expo 2000. The programs were also handed out at Otakon 2000 a few weeks later, but with a minor difference — there was a sticker covering up the "Anime Expo 2000" text on the cover.

Newtype 100% Collection: The images below are from the Newtype 100% Collection, an artbook released in Japan in November 2000. This book archives promotional art, screenshots, and design sketches from the Escaflowne movie. In the back of the book there is also a small section dedicated to the Escaflowne TV series. To see design sketches from the Newtype 100% Collection, please visit the character designs page. (Note: The pages are in order from right to left, as they appeared in the original Japanese book.)
