Ugh. Just totally and thouroughly Ugh.
Tripod wrote me back today:
(Actual Email from Tripod)
Summary: Maybe if we say less it'll look like we answered the question.
[Special treat: My translations in blue!]
Hello,
This is probably another automated email, or we don't care enough to cut and paste your name.
Thank you for sending us your comments about the advertising on the
Tripod website.
Please stop bugging us.
Tripod takes member feedback about our advertising campaign very
seriously and your comments will be forwarded to our business group for
further consideration.
Other people have whined too so maybe we should do something
Translation option 2: We're telling you this in hopes you shut up.
Your other option is to upgrade to Plus and your site will be ads-free.
So what are you saying? You're crippling the free site? BY HIDING THE MENU I'D USE TO UPGRADE!!!
Real smart, oh yeah you're REALLY smart, you're showing me uh huh.
Translation option 2: We still do not understand what you're talking about despite the screen captures we didn't look at.
Sincerely,
Anthony

In an interesting turn of events we have learned today:
1: MISTER Danielle Schumacher who is only interested in "travel" Got a new ad. For two glorious minutes it was
fixed, before I signed in there was a static ad. But for me, for me MRS. Danielle Schumacher, I still get YM.
MISTER Danielle Schumacher wants to get a job, apparently MRS. (already married) Danielle Schumacher
wants to get a man. No actually a boy. Well he better have a job after all this.
2: Mozilla Browser keeps things lined up right, but only by disabling Flash. Maybe I want to keep Flash running, it's
still a problem. AND I LIKE IE.
No really I do.
3: I can no longer access my filemanager. THIS is the screen I get. This don't look good
for the home team. Fortunately FTP still works. HA HA HA HA HA !! HAHA!
4: I had a VIRUS today! Not related to this problem, but it doesn't improve my mood.
5: Tripod either still hasn't read my email or they expect me to pay in hopes that it MIGHT solve my problem.
Yeah like that's going to happen.
Let me think of something to email them tomorrow.
