"MINOR" CHANGES TO BE MADE TO ESCAFLOWNE 08/15/00

After anouncing last week that Escaflowne would air raw and uncut, Jerry Chu called us to let us know that some changes would be made.

"A marketing guy from Fox called me and said that Escaflowne would have to be changed in order to make it 'less faggy." said the Bandai representative. "I asked him what he meant by 'less faggy' and he said that they would remove 'all that bitch feminine crap'. I told him when talking to the anime press he would use 'shoujo' as oppossed to 'faggy"

Anime News Wire immediately contacted our source at Fox to confirm this. "Some minor changes HAVE been made." said the unnamed source at Fox. "Unfortunately, marketing reasons have forced us to make some name changes. Hitomi will now be referred to as Ralph. We begin the story when Ralph and swordsman Joe are transported to a magical world where they will fight bad guys"

"We will be removing several episodes from the series, however," the source continued, "We will not only be taking away from the series, we also plan on adding to it by digitally painting some new toys... I mean characters."

When asked who was responsible for these changes, the source replied "We hired a new executive, his name is Stuart Levy [Editors Note: If you didn't see that one coming, you are an idiot]"

"I made the changes based on the domestic failure of other 'faggy anime' like Please Save My Earth" said Mr. Levy. "On the bright side, if this is succesfull we may see more anime, such as Kizuna and Fake on domestic television."
