Gohan leaps to Piccolo's defense.
Gohan launches an energy beam at Freeza, then powers it up to the limit.
Freeza is nearly overwhelmed by the force of Gohan's attack, but manages to push back hard enough to return it.
Faced with such power, Freeza decides to perform his final transformation.
Vegeta, astounded by the level of power Gohan displayed, feels that Gohan is coming very close to becoming a Super Saiyan.
Vegeta orders Kuririn to attack him hard enough to leave him near death. After one more recovery, Vegeta is certain he will be a Super Saiyan himself.
Kuririn refuses at first, but as Freeza's Ki continues to rise, finally relents, and blasts Vegeta through his chest.
Dende refuses to heal Vegeta, since he was responsible for killing so many Namekians, and heals Piccolo instead.
Freeza sees Dende heal Piccolo, and realizes that he is responsible for everyone's miraculous recoveries.
At Piccolo's request, Dende also heals Vegeta, who experiences yet another power-up.
An ungrateful Vegeta prepares to take on Freeza, who finishes his final transformation in a cloud of smoke.
