| The third Evangelion Artificially Produced Humanoid Robot and the first production model. It is powered by an Electical cable attached to the back. If the cable is disconnected it has an internal battery that will give it nominal power for 5 minutes and 2 seconds, full power for 1 minute and 2 seconds or life support power for 15 hours. The parts, design and blueprint was from Japan but the assemble and production was done in Germany. It was shipped to Japan by the United Nations Pacific Fleet along with its pilot and made its debut when Gaghiel, the 6th Angel, attacked the fleet at sea in Episode 8. It has 4 optic eyes and 4 electro-magnetic sensors in the head. It was meant to be the first production model with subsequent succesors until the production of S-2 engine models that replaced the original design of this particular unit. After Asuka lost the ability to synchronize with the unit, it was handed to Kaworu who used it to penetrate the Terminal Dogma at Episode 24. In the movie REBIRTH, Asuka gained full control again of this unit. |
