Q:What is Evangelion?
A:Evangelion (EVA for short) are bio-mechanical creatures that was based upon both Human and Angel technology, who were designed specifically to fight and destroy Angels. The Units' internal structures are based on Angel anatomy, being the Units' physical composition of blood, organs, muscle tissues, and brain insulated within a metal exoframe and powered by electricity. It requires an external power source to engage on pre-longed battles, and without a power source, has a maximum time of 5 minutes operating without an AT-Field. They possess the ability to generate an AT-Field, thus "neutralizing" the Angel's, and are also equipped with weapons which can destroy the Angels. The mostly prefered way to dispatch Angels are using projectile weapons to divert attention, and then coming in close and conducting hand-to-hand combat. Unfortunately, the cost to build and maintain are very high, as well as being cumbersome to operate.

~LCL-A super-oxygenated silicon liquid that oxidates blood cells once within the lungs, and is used within the entry plug.

~Entry Plug-Essentially a "cockpit" for the pilot, where synchronacy with the EVA happens, is located within the Unit's back. The pilot will be submerged within LCL inside and enters into a metal tube, reffered as the Cyber Namidia, or "The throne of the soul".
~Umbilical Cord-This is a long extension cord which provides the electricity from an outside source to the EVAs connecting on their backs. The Cord has the description of a cross between a gas pump and an electrical plug.

~SSTO-The SSTO is short-form for Single Stage Trans-Orbital rocket. It is a physical shield for the EVAs on one of the missions, having a layer of electromagnetic base coasting, and will withstand up to 17 continuous seconds of Angel no.5's particle beam.

~Bull-pop sub-machine gun-A machine gun the size of a battleship, but fits snugly on the EVA. It's ammunition is depleted uranium shells, and on it's debut was used upon Angel no.3, no effect. It was also used on Angel no.4, and destroyed Angel no.4.

~Lancea Longini-The Longinus Lance, which is capable of extending to various lengths, depending upon the target. It was used to first keep Lilith from "growing" too quickly for the Instrumentality of Man project, but was thrown to the moon to destroy the 16th Angel.

~Progressive Knife-This knife works with ultrasonic vibrations like a beam saber but shorter, and can cut through normal matter easily, and kept within the storage shoulder pads of the EVAs. This is the most effective hand-to-hand weapon available for the EVAs and a sure-fire way to eliminate any Angel threats.

~FX-1 JSSDF-This is short-form for Japan(?) Self Propelled Positron Cannon, developed by the JSDF (Japanese Self Defense Force), and used to destroy Angel no.5 and drained all electricity from Japan during it's usage. It is quite long in length, and probably taller than any EVA.

~Shield-A shield resembing the U.S. Space Shuttle's underbelly. It was used by EVA-00 to protect EVA-01 during the mission against Angel no.5. It did an admirable job, protecting EVA-00 until EVA-01 terminated the Angel.
