Hello everybody! (I guess as of now, that means just you, Yun-Ching. ^_^)
Anyway, I guess I'll introduce myself. Hopefully, more people will
join the list and the conversation.
I'm a relatively new fan to Sakura Taisen. I just got Sakura Taisen 1
and 2 a few weeks ago, and I've finished ST1 twice, first with Iris, then
Sakura. I've mapped out the LIPS choices for the first 3 episodes, but I
guess Ming has already done that, with translations. ^_^ (But there is one
detail that I think Ming missed.) I haven't been able to touch ST2 yet,
what with school and everything.
Obviously, I love the game. I loved it even before I played it. ^_^
The only disappointment I had was with the battle parts, as there was no
experience point system. I guess that wouldn't have made sense because the
battles were so few, but nevetheless, I thought that ST1 could have offered
more in that area. I still liked the battles, though, especially the final
battle.
Hmmm, favorite Hanagumi member... I dont really have a single
favorite, but I like Sakura, Iris, Maria, and Kouran the best. Sumire is
great in combat, but from what I can tell, she has a terrible personality.
Kanna is just a bit too masculine for me; I can't think of her as female at
all. But I like her personality a lot more than Sumire's, and she's
excellent in combat.
My favorite minigame would probably be the Hanafuda tournament.
Sakura's and Iris's are just too hard to win, Sumire's I find a little dull
(I don't really mind her incessant shouting though ^_^), and Kanna's I just
can't play because of the Japanese involved. Maria's I like second best,
because I like making borscht, but it doesn't have a whole lot of replay
value for me. The shooting gallery is ok, but a bit too easy, especially
with auto-fire. ^_^
I guess somebody (ADV?) has picked up the rights to the Sakura Taisen
OVAs, so we'll be seeing them stateside soon; I hope they'll have a
subtitled version.
Uhhh, merchandise...all I have are the two games and the Real Model of
Sakura. it came with a CD with some voice acting, mostly of Sakura and a
little Iris and Kouran (probably those two because the other two Real
Models are of them). I'll probably buy the videos when they come out, and
I'm planning to buy the Vocal Collection, BVCH-745. It has the opening
theme and image songs of the Hanagumi.
So, how about yourself? What's your take on Sakura Taisen?
