I understand why you feel that the GBC version wouldn't compare favorably
to the Saturn version--I just don't see why it necessarily *has* to. What
would be wrong with a little mini-game collection, maybe set in a top down
rpg/strategy environment? Strategy games aren't entirely unheard of on the
Gameboy, and the mini-games seem pretty well tailor made for the Gameboy.
Sure there's more to the series than that... there's more to Nobunaga's
Ambition (and other Koei games) than the GB version would show, that
doesn't necessarily mean that there's no place for a GB version.
As for considering a GBC version as being "just" for the cash... well, I
guess Sega footed the bill for the original ST purely out of the goodness
of their heart. ;) And what exactly has Sony done for Square? I think
it's more like the other way 'round--Sony wouldn't be in nearly as strong a
position today without Square in their corner.
