Because, considering the large user base the Game Boy has, the ST GB game
will introduce a lot of people to the series, and they're going to be
introduced to something that does not even slightly resemble the other games
in the series.
I already talked about this in my letter before-hand, so why are you making
me repeat myself?:T

Maybe in Japan, but in the US, not only did Sony publish FFVII and put the
SquareSoft brand name on the map, it also paid for that incredible barrage
of FFVII ads on TV and in print...something which Square wouldn't have been
able to manage on its own. Let's face it...if things were up to Square,
FFVII would have done just okay in terms of sales, and we probably wouldn't
have seen games like FF Tactics and Einhänder.
