Well, I'm finally back from vacation. I wanted to write this earlier, but I had to pack up and leave right after I finished ST2, so I didn't have the chance. Anyway, here they are. My Sakura Taisen 2 memories, in vaguely chronological order: S P O I L E R S P A C E The first "extreme close-up" of Iris. Ooof! Maria's first appearance, in the heat of battle. "Saa. Iko!" Getting into trouble with the Hanagumi because of Saki. Good riddance! :P Yoneda getting shot. "Usooo!" T_T Leni at bath-side. Oh, my virgin eyes! ^_^; Soletta's father shielding Soletta from an explosion, and her speech afterward. That was the most emotional part of the game for me. Invasion of the Imperial Theater. "Mou, yurusenai!" Dates with the Teigeki Sannin Musume. What kind of oaf is Oogami for making dates with all three of them at the same time? Anyway, Tsubaki looked very nice in her blue dress. Oni-O's identity revealed in Sakura's vision. I must not have been thinking, because it caught me totally by surprise. Maybe the voice threw me off; it seemed too rough to belong to Sakura's father. Fighting against Kazuma. What? Ten Kazumas? How am I supposed to win?! Lucky for me, he only multiplies once. ^_^; It was interesting to be on the receiving end of Sakura's special attack, too. Collecting all four of the Anti-Kouma Unit's swords. I was kind of disappointed that Sakura didn't use two swords while fighting in her Koubu, though. That would have been too cool, I guess. ^_^ The Baragumi. Ahh, get away, get away! But I was touched by their "Hooray hooray Oogami!" The "extra episode". I hope I understood wrongly and Oogami isn't really getting sent to France. What does that mean for Sakura Taisen 3? Yuuichi Kayama interrupting Oogami's dream, telling him to put in Disc 2. Hilarious! His CD player warning is funny too. It's probably apparent that most of what I remember is from the later part of the game; that's partly because I played the first episodes months ago, and partly because I erased one of my saved games and had to replay one or two episodes in the later half, so the repetition improved my recall. ^_^; I also wanted to say that I was surprised at how much the game focused on Sakura in the last few episodes. I guess I shouldn't have been, since she is the most prominent Hanagumi, but at the end, it seemed like it was all Sakura all the time. ("Otousama! Otousamaaa!") Maybe my viewpoint got skewed because she was my Number One and I went through her episodes as well. One last thing: After playing Last Blade, it occurred to me that the robots in Kouran's special attacks (in both Sakura Taisens) might represent Genbu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Seiryuu. Is that right? Does anybody know the legend behind those four, anyway? The first I heard of them was from Final Fantasy Legend on Game Boy. ^_^ I guess they're in Fushigi Yuugi, too; I'm not familiar with it. So, anybody else care to share their favorite Sakura Taisen moments? ^_^
