> Here are my 10 most favorite Sakura Taisen vocal songs, from the two > Kayou Zenshu (BVCH-735 and MJCA-00021) . Anyone who wants to share their > top 10, please do so. ^_^ 1. Ai Yue ni -Probably my favorite because I don't own it (yet?). The last time I heard the song was at least a year ago, but I loved it. I love the contrast between Maria(Takano) and Sakura(Chisa)'s vocals. I've also always had a thing for male/female duets, and even though Takano/Maria isn't a male, she's acting like one. 2. Kiseki no Kane -what is there to say about it? It was great in Sakura Taisen 2(if you haven't got there.... well, you just wait until you do!), and when i heard it for real on the CD, I knew I had to buy it. It starts off nice... nice a capella singing. then the true nature of the song starts... and it's just awesome. And in between when they're doing their "la la la's", i love their harmonizing and stuff. 3.Haru ga Kuru -nothing better than hearing Chisa's soothing voice. This song's an interesting blend of japanese-style music with a modern beat. I don't know how Godai-kun can say this is a boring song... it's just beautiful in more ways than one 4.Geki! Teikoku Kagegidan / " (kai) -it was so addicting the first time I heard it. I'd load it up every single time I played my Saturn. my only complaint about the ST op was that it was too short. Then comes ST2 with a revised version. I don't really mind the fact that Sumire and Maria come and sing as well(though Michie-san sounds kinda different singing this song), but I much preferred the sopranos in Geki! than 3 seiyuu singing in Geki! (kai). But, the music composition is remarkably better in Geki (kai). I especially love the new longer, fancier intro. 5.Itoshi no Jean Paul -though I hate Iris... I hate Nishihara Kumiko's voice... I must admit this song is good. It's upbeat, catchy, and i dunno... just overall.. great. 6. Hanasaku Otome -can't really say why I like this song, but I just do. one of those not-so-special songs that become more and more special with each listen I'm not really sure about the rest. So I guess I'll leave it at that. But, I do like the playfulness of Kanna/Sumire in Ai wa Daiya. All of the individual songs in the first vocal album I didn't care for...which is why I've never bought it.. I like the majority of the stuff in the 2nd one, but Kouran and Maria's songs are kinda boring... esp. back to back... But Kanna's is pretty cool. A bit more rock-popish than her previous happy-broadway-musical boogie woogie... Sumire's is catchy. The san-nin musume were also very cute in their playfulness. I like how they sing back and forth. I also have to smile everytime I hear that Shounen Red song cuz I just think of Kouran singing it and... i dunno... it's just really cute. Anyway, to Paul: > 8. Aishi no Janporu > Iris' minigame. Also, I can't explain it, but the overall atmosphere of > the song is a bit weird. At times, it seems like a cute song, but at other > times it sounds dark, even morbid. I'm sure it would make more sense if I > knew Iris was saying. Oh, I translated it a while back. Do you want it? But the gist of it is... It's night, Iris is scared. Iris wants to dream happy dreams, and hopes for a happier tomorrow. -T
