And I wondered what was going on in the IRC chan. last night. So, I go to Hotmail and find 25 new messages about ST3, a game that has no official release date, no pictures, no proof of its existence other than mere conjecture and a few words stated some time in the past. Perhaps a large petition would get things going, that's a fruitful thought. But no, rather, instead the threads managed to mutate into little hissy fits over which company they personally feel should do the conversion of a game, which, all things considered probably will not make it to America no matter what we do. Why not America? Take a step outside, turn on the TV, read a newspaper; as long as choreographed wrestling is King of Entertainment, as long as single-man gun rampages continue to repeat and make news, as long as Kansas supresses scientific research, and so many other things, one thing is clear: America, as a whole, is a land of goddamned idiots. The point being that a game like ST would have no market here, and as much as we'd like to think otherwise, the #1 motivation factor behind anything in video games is profit. And besides, how is a company going to take a petition seriously when the group of people that start the petition get in cuss fights within itself over a company's actions? PS: If your counter-flame to this is one sentence or less, please just mail it to me and not the ML. -Fonz " 'Tis true that sex and money makes the world go round, but it's anger that keeps it all in momentum." ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
