Wow, fonz's name is Thomas McNulty? I woulda never guessed. > Why not America? Take a step outside, turn on the TV, read a newspaper; as > long as choreographed wrestling is King of Entertainment, as long as > single-man gun rampages continue to repeat and make news, as long as Kansas > supresses scientific research, and so many other things, one thing is clear: > America, as a whole, is a land of goddamned idiots. Amen to that. > The point being that a > game like ST would have no market here, and as much as we'd like to think > otherwise, the #1 motivation factor behind anything in video games is > profit. Except that I still don't believe it is the driving force behind Working Designs, ie the company in question. I know there are some people who do enjoy their localizations. And I know a whole bunch who hate that they don't "translate" games. Especially since Vic did say that he was this close to getting the rights to the first Sakura Taisen game. I have no reason to doubt him. He does BS sometimes about things he doesn't know about(ie that you have to pay royalties to seiyuu everytime a character opens their mouth), but when his own company is concerned, as I said... i have no reason to doubt what he said. So maybe Sakura Taisen doens't have a market here, but in most cases, Vic brings out stuff that doesn't have a market. Doesn't hurt that ADV's brought over that mediocre OAV series either. Anyway, my point is love 'em or hate 'em, ST3 on US DC is a possibility. -mp
