 | Queen Millennia is Leiji Matsumoto's classic anime series. Though not as famous as other Matsumoto shows in the west, it was a huge hit in Asia. The story is about a young boy and a mysterious girl's efforts to save the Earth from destruction by the evil planet Lar Metal. This show has one of the most intricate and intelligent plots in anime, plus some hauntingly beautiful background music. The contrasting fragility and strength of Queen Millennia distinguishes her as one of the most memorable characters in anime. |

Queen Millennia the TV series has nothing to do with Captain Harlock, despite the fact that the two shows were spliced together by brute force into one show some years ago in the US.
