X is an occult battle manga taking place in the near future. It
features great artwork by CLAMP, intriguing characters and complex plots.
It takes place in the same Universe as Tokyo Babylon (another work by
CLAMP). Continuous novel-type.

ORIGINAL JAPANESE VERSION
Currently, X1-13 have been released by ASUKA COMICS, and
is serialized in Japan in a shoujo monthly manga magazine "ASUKA",
published by Kadokawa Shoten. The cover of each volume of the X
manga features one character from the series. The inner jacket is a
picture of the character as a major arcana of a tarot deck. The
spine of the individual volumes put together form a continuous
picture.

ENGLISH COMMERCIAL TRANSLATIONS
Several issues are available in the U.S. from Viz Comics
under the title X/1999. The title was changed because Dark Horse
already has a title called X. X/1999 was serialized in Animerica.

volume 3 "Sonata": The original graphics of Kanoe on the original

ENGLISH FAN TRANSLATIONS
Below are translations nicely doned by the members of
"CML-CWTT": Tonghyun "Vajra" Kim (X1), Steven E. Barnes (X2-5), "Fuu
Hououji" (X6-8), Shinobu and Nataku (X9-10) from the original
Japanese edition into English. CML-CWTT versions of X1-10 are
available below. The 2nd link for X10 is by Yuki-chan, who has
kindly sent me the translation she has done for her friend of hers.
X11 translations should be finished by me and Nataku fairly soon
(sorry for the wait). X12 (by Utako) is also posted below. A summary
of X11, as well as the Asuka installments for X12 and subsequent
volumes are included in the "Asuka" link.
A note to anyone who wants to use these translations on
his/her web page: Please keep the entire translation as it is,
with any notes and comments intact. Also, please notify the
translators or myself if you
would like to use them. And please properly credit the translators.
They deserve it.
Another note to the other name of the "Dragons of Earth":
The title "Mitsukai" has been translated as the "Minions" in the
early translations, but from the script of X7 onwards, they are
translated as "Angels" which is the "official" English equivalence
used by CLAMP. ("Seven Habringers" or whatever Viz has translated it
as is just plain incorrect. I dunno if they will change though... I
doubt.)

CHINESE COMMERCIAL TRANSLATIONS
The Taiwan publisher, Tohan Comics, has released 12
volumes of the X manga. It follows the format and layout of the
original Japanese version. I have the info as follows.
