Erika

Pokemon:
Erika
Tamamushi City (Japanese)
Celadon City (English)
Rainbow Badge
Plant
Utsubot (Japanese)/Victreebel (English), Level 29
Monjara (Japanese)/Tangela (English), Level 24
Rafracia (Japanese)/Vileplume (English), Level 29
Strategies:

Erika looks like a sweet, innocent young woman, but don't underestimate her Pokemon. The other trainers in her Gym should give you a good idea what to expect, so if you can't beat them easily, build up your levels and come back later. Keep your Water element Pokemon away from this battle; if you chose Hitokage/Charmander at the beginning of the game, the ease with which you'll defeat Erika's Pokemon will make you happy you went through the suffering earlier on. It should be pretty straightforward to beat Ustubot/Victreebel and Rafracia/Vileplume, but beware of Monjara/Tanjara's Bind attack; it's very much like Arbo/Ekans and Arbok's Wrap attack which can leave your Pokemon helpless for up to five rounds. Also, it might be a good idea to bring some curative items to heal the Paralysis, Sleep and Poison attacks Erika's Pokemon might do to yours.

Suggested Pokemon levels: 28+

Items Received: TM21
