KATSUYA TERADA |
Born in December 1963, in Okayama, Japan. He then graduated from Asagaya Art School and became an independent manga artist, while drawing illustrations for comics, movies, theaters and games. BLOOD will be his first animation project. |
TERADA'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
One day while watching Ghost in the Shell, I received a call from Mr. Oshii about BLOOD. This is how I was involved in this project. I still can't say, at this moment, whether they liked my work or not, but I feel certain that this movie will develop into a great piece of art. The staff are simply amazing! Anyway, now that all of my work is done, I just sit at home and wait for the release of the completed film. |
YUSUKE TAKEDA |
Art Director for "Garo Densetsu," "Slayers 2" and also the Background Artist for "Saishu Heiki." |
TAKEDA'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
I really like the new idea of using a more aggressive and assertive technique of the exposure alterations. The perfect collaboration of various creators produces one great art. The production of BLOOD is extremely challenging and inspiring, but we are frequently faced with troubles and problems. You'll see what I mean by this, when you watch the film carefully. |
MIKI SAKUMA |
Having worked for 6 months as a colorist, she has acquired enough digital skills, and is now in charge of digital filming. She is involved in most of IG's works, as either a Digital Colorist or Digital Filming Chief --"Sampaguita," "Sakura War 2," "Tales of Fantasia" |
SAKUMA'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
BLOOD is a film that has a very distinct style, and I was a bit confused at first, but now that I've familiarized myself so much with this new style and techniques, the old animation style confuses me. |
HIROYUKI KITAKUBO |
Major project: On-line Diary "Yonde Nake" (Read and Cry!) |
I'm going to die... like now... I really mean it... like very soon. It's so damn hot here and my life is so friggin' screwed up! But I still have to ride my bike... |
KITAKUBO'S ENTHUSIASM |
What's enthusiasm? There's no such thing as an enthusiasm, stupid! BLOOD has always been GREAT! Just go see it. See it and then die. I'll die with you. God bless BLOOD! Bravo!! I just need to complete it so that I can die... but I'd still have to ride my bike... |
KAZUCHIKA KISE |
Animation Supervisor for "Patlabor the Movie," "Patlabor the Movie 2" and "Ghost in the Shell," and much much more! |
KISE'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
The highlights of the movie? Well, everything! The production is like hell, and so is the production schedule, but the pictures are simply divine! Whether we can complete the film or not, still remains a big question! |
DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ON KISE |
There is absolutely no one else but this alcoholic who can animate Terada's characters. I mean it, Kise is REALLY good, he really is!! He's probably the only guy, whom we can beg, and he'll do just about anything for us, really I mean it! |
HIROSHI KATO |
Art Director for "Neon Genesis Evangelion
(both feature and TV series)" Storyboard Artist for "Medarot 2" and "Saishu Heiki" Background Artist for "Sampaguita" |
KATO'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
Considering the difficult and hell-like situations for the BLOOD animators, my job on the settings and backgrounds weren't as bad, which makes me feel sorry for the animators. But I still have stress which is about to create a hole in my stomach. |
KENJI KAMIYAMA |
Animation Director for "JIN-ROH; Storyboard Artist for "Medarot 2"; Scriptwriter for "Wild Arms" |
KAMIYAMA'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
Since this makes my debut in the film industry as a script writer, BLOOD gives me special feelings. But then I only wrote the script and did nothing else after that. It's as though I've made my bed for a romantic evening (great expectations!), and completely screwed up that night, and missed out on all the fun! But then again, when I watch the "hell-like" production site for BLOOD, it makes me feel that I've made the right choice. |
CHIEKO ICHIMANDA |
In-between Animation Checker for "Ghost in the Shell," "JIN-ROH," "Kisetsu wo Dakishimete" and "Double Cast." |
ICHIMANDA'S COMMENTS ON BLOOD |
This studio is filled with energy and enthusiasm. Working with these people gives me more pressure than I want. It makes me think that I need to work more and even harder than ever before. Kitakubo-san, I think I'm doing my best, but please also understand that I have ups and downs like any other people, just a little more frequently. |
