I'm REALLY sorry I've neglected the Cute Zone for so long! Things came up, and...okay, okay, enough excuses. I'm sorry the Cute Zone has been rather mediocre lately (SUCKS is the operative term). I'll tell you the reasons for the many bad things on the pages, but they're not excuses. First off, school. I recently switched departments, and am now pursuing an East Asian Studies degree, meaning learning lots of Japanese. Second, I met my girlfriend at the start of last semester and *ahem* haven't had too much time to use my computer. Third, I was losing disk space right and left, forcing me to delete parts of the pages without being able to put the files somewhere else. The end result was a sucky webpage that wasn't very Cute at all!! Now, school's almost over, my girlfriend is in Japan *sniffle* and I've found a temporary measure on disk space. I hope you enjoy the newly restored Cute Zone...

Well, I SHOULD be studying for final exams, but since I'm a procrastinator, I decided to spiffy up my ugly web pages. ^_^ I experimented with cascading style sheets, but decided that there were too many Netscape 3 users out there to leave in the cold, so I made it accessible to Netscape 3 users as well. However, I do recommend Netscape 4.0 to view, or maybe Internet Explorer 4. Here are the specific changes:
  1. fixed broken / problem links.
  2. separated the main page into three pages with a navigation bar, for faster loading. There are buttons to the features section on the main page, an overview of the website, and a related story.
  3. changed the background.
  4. finally wrote the Cute FAQ (although its been up for awhile now).
  5. made web pages use cascading style sheets but also look good for Netscape 3.
I'm also losing my dragonfire account very soon, meaning my Asamiya web pages and the Cute Sounds may disappear temporarily. I'm really hard up for disk space, and losing 25 megabytes on the internet is tough. For a temporary solution, I will be hosting both on my home machine, but my machine will only be available daily 1:00am to 7:30am Mountain Standard Time. The connection is VERY slow, so beware! I'm doing this for those of you who want files or images desperately, and not for the idle web surfer (I think the access is too slow for them).

As I said before, this is a temporary solution until somebody in the cable industry gets off their butts and installs cable modem service in my area. Until then, this will have to do. What does this mean to you? Well, if you try to go to the Asamiya or Cute Sounds pages outside of those times, most likely you will get a broken link. Within those times, you'll probably be able to get those files or images.

Here are the URL's for webpages on my machine:

Home:
http://postmodem.com/dips/Shinohara/

Kia Asamiya Page
http://postmodem.com/dips/Shinohara/asamiya/

Cute Sounds
http://www.ualberta.ca/~bfan/cute/sounds.htm
(The web page will still stay on my university server, but the files will reside on my machine.)

After you go to my machine your URL in your browser may turn into an IP address (ie. some numbers). If you want to bookmark or link to those pages, please use the postmodem.com URL (as stated above) and NOT the IP address! The IP address may change, but the URL above will not.

PHEW! There's lots of turmoil at the Cute Zone, so stay tuned.
