Evangelion: Unit 2
Production model(EVA-02)

The first production model of Evangelion. The design and manufacture of parts were done in Japan. Assembly and testing were done in Germany.
It is expected that next Evangelion will be same structure as Unit 2. The appearance of Unit 2 is similar with Unit 0, but the performance and servicability of this type is much improved.
The assigned pilot of Unit 2, Asuka says, "Unit 2 is the first real Evangelion, which was created for actual combat."
During its transport to Japan, Unit 2 encounters the 6th Angel, and successfully extirpated it. At that time, Unit 2 was booted on the deck of transport ship. It seems that maintenance, and boot reliability were improved from previous models of Evangelion.
