Due to jolting-rotary movements (something about the thoracic circumferences of manga female characters), the blue hole opens and it connects our world with another full of dinosaurs. So now there are a lot of big and voracious characters are eating down the streets. Fortunately Dr. Kushiwada (by Tony Takezaki) was ready to oppose this threat: he presents Masamune, the living weapon. The huge octopus fires out a lot of smaller octopuses (do you remember the ending of Orion?) who are capable to calm down creatures whose brains are in tumult. So they calm not only the dinosaurs but every other characters too. | Dai Gassaku "The Great Challenge"has been drawn by 52 mangaka under the supervision of Tony Takezaki to celebrate the ten years of the Kodansha Afternoon magazine. You can see a lot of characters from different manga (Ah! My Goddess, Calm Breaker, Seraphic Feather, Compiler, Gun Smith Cats,...) engaged in different parallel situations (there isn't a unique understandable story). Since Kodansha published Ghost in the Shell, Mr. Shirow is one of the authors. I have recognized his style for the first time in the middle of a Goddesses Bikini Contest (how do you imagine Belldandy drawn by Shirow?) but the best comes when a blue hole appears from the sky. This is not good for Omega (by Yoshiki Inoue), which must free his energy after his transformation. So he defeats Masamune waking up again the dinosaurs! Here are shown only some pictures drawn by Shirow to observe the copyrights, to know more look at Afternoon #2 1997. |
