I and Lantis was called upon by Guru Clef to Cefiro in order to pledge our allegiance to the Princess and become her faithful subjects . . . to help her rule Cefiro. I was honoured to have been chosen as such and I was resolved to do my duty to the fullest . . . but all my resolves crumbled to my feet at the very moment the Princess seeked court with us and I laid my eyes upon such sweet innocence. At that moment, I did not only pledge to her my allegiance, I pledged to her my soul, my heart, my whole being! I loved her with such depth and passion that would surpass all others . . . that same passion that was held responsible for the destruction of all. I knew the reason why Lantis left Cefiro, and so did Emeraude . . . but no one dare speak of this secret forbidden affair out loud in fear that all would perish.
