I am Kailu Lantis…and this is my domain. You have come here in search of me and therefore have succeeded from a long journey through Cefiro. What is that you say? You have come to ask who I am?
I am addressed as "Kailu" because it is a denomination that has been assigned to me by our beloved Princess Emeraude . . . to be her protector . . . and by our esteemed Guru Clef. "Kailu" is somewhat a term designated to one who has the power of a sorcerer and the skill of an excellent swordsman . . . and in Cefiro . . . there are only two of the kind . . . I and my brother, Zagato…who unfortunately died because of his so-called "just cause" . . . and that is why I left Cefiro, because I was the Kailu---the Princess’ protector, and I despise the thought of fighting against my own brother, whom at that point of temporary madness, was unreasonable . . . I took off to the land of Autozam, wanting to get away from the burden of choosing between my duty---Cefiro, or my brother---Zagato. We’ve had a few misunderstandings, but still . . . he is my only brother and the only one left who had reared me after our mother’s death. The only remembrance left by my mother was a magnificent pendant . . . a precious thing that I had given to a dear friend . . . someone whom I have disclosed feelings that I have been hesitant to admit . . . dear Hikaru . . . my Hikaru. She is one who changed my outlook on life . . . one whom I would gladly die for . . . one who I care for so much that my life would mean nothing without her . . . and more importantly, one who made me understand how my brother had felt when he foolishly forsaken his duty for the love of a lady.
