Ceres
Ceres is an ageless tennyo from legend, reborn in the body of Aya Mikage. Long ago, a man stole her hagoromo, without which she cannot return to the heavens. She returns each generation to seek revenge on the Mikage, and to retrieve what was taken from her.

Aki Mikage
The beloved twin brother of Aya Mikage, Aki is the reincarnation of Shiso--the ancestor of the Mikage family who stole the hagoromo from Ceres. As a result, Aya and Aki have become unwilling enemies, and must be kept separate at all costs.

Shiso
Shiso is the original ancestor of the Mikage family, and the man who stole the hagoromo from Ceres in legend. Mad with rage, Shiso wants Ceres--his wife--back, and is willing to stop at nothing to achieve this.

Tooya
A mysterious man with no surname and no past, he first comes into Aya's life as a savior of sorts. Tooya is an employee of Mikage International, and his love for Aya places him at strong odds with the orders he receives once Ceres emerges from Aya.

Suzumi Aogiri
A native of the Kansai area of Japan, Suzumi also has tennyo blood, although it is much less pure than Aya's. She rescued Aya and took her into the Aogiri home after Ceres emerged, and Aya has stayed with her and Yuuhi since then.

Yuuhi Aogiri
Related to Suzumi Aogiri through her deceased husband, Yuuhi lives with his older sister-in-law and is charged with protecting Aya. Yuuhi is a master chef, and in combat uses a pair of steel chopsticks to complement his martial arts skills.

Chidori Kuruma
Although Chidori looks of elementary school age, she's actually in high school. She also possesses tennyo blood, which is what halted her physical growth--although unlike Suzumi and Aya, she can transform into her tennyo form at will. When in this form, she actually looks her age.

Kagami Mikage
Director of the C-Project conducted by Mikage International, Kagami is Aya's cousin. Whereas the rest of the Mikage family want to kill Aya, seeing her as a threat, Kagami wants her captured for study, so that he can harness the power of the tennyo.

Wei Fei Li
An employee of Mikage International, Wei is a skilled martial artist from China. Wielding a vicious chain whip and various tiny throwing blades, he is often sent out to bring in captured C-Genoma or other covert tasks.

Alexander Howell
Originally from Scotland, Alec studied in the USA and came to work with the Mikage because of his interest in the tennyo legends and his skill with genetic engineering. Although he speaks Japanese with a thick accent, he is keenly intelligent, and loves anime and video games.

Miori Sahara
A distant cousin of Aya Mikage, Miori recently lost her parents. When Aya comes to a new school, the two meet and become friends, although Miori seems to have many secrets of her own.
