Seiyuu: Yara Yuusaku | ||
Master is the owner of Abcb, a coffee shop where Madoka works after school and a popular meeting place for Kyousuke and his friends. Master sees Madoka's and Kyousuke's fondness for each other, and encourages them to act on their feelings. He also asks Kyousuke to work for him on occasion, on the pretext of needing the help - with Madoka usually offering only token resistance to the idea!
Seiyuu: Nakahara Shigeru and Yamada Eiko | ||
Shuu (short for Shuuichi) is Madoka's older cousin and leader of the band Swing Top, and Yukari is lead singer in the band
as well as Shuu's boyfriend.
When Kyousuke sees Madoka with Shuu (after an all-night band practice) and mistakes them for a couple, he is both confused and tempted by the (seemingly) romantic advances of Yukari, who is substituting for Madoka at Abcb. He decides that Madoka wants a more adult relationship than he can provide, and in a fit of jealousy seeks the same thing with Yukari. However, before Kyousuke can act on his temptation, Yukari shows him that Madoka is just guest-performing with the band, and Yukari was just responsible for keeping Kyousuke busy so that Madoka's performance would be a surprise.
Madoka also has written a song for the band, which Yukari performs, that seems to express some of the feelings that Madoka has for Kyousuke that she can't express more openly right now.
Hirose Sayuri Manga-only character |
Sayuri is an attractive girl, and she knows it. She also knows she can get any guy to ask her out. Her objective, however, is to get these poor boys to ask her out so she can turn them down flat! She keeps a journal of all the guys she's turned down for dates, but the one name she hasn't managed to get into her not-so-"little black book" of conquests is - who else -
Kasuga Kyousuke.
Her primary goal becomes the seduction of Kyousuke, as well as the breakup of the secret relationship between Kyousuke and Madoka, since she is one of the few people in the manga (besides Manami and Master) who realizes they like each other. Kyousuke is blissfully ignorant of what Sayuri is trying to do, but Madoka sees her for what she is and gives him the benefit of the doubt whenever he's caught in a compromising situation with her.
Ushiko and Umao Seiyuu: Nakajima Senri and Suzuki Katsumi |
Ushiko (the woman) and Umao (the man) are a running gag in the KOR anime. They represent fatuous romance, and can pop up at any time in a story, usually in ridiculous circumstances, quoting Romeo and Juliet:
"Ushiko-san, Ushiko-san, wherefore art thou Ushiko-san?" "Umao-san, Umao-san, wherefore art thou Umao-san?"
The names are Japanese for:
Ushi-ko - cow-woman
Uma-(otok)o - horse-man
