oil companies are stealing democracy while you sleep

My first realization that oil companies were Controlling
The World came when I read about the hybrid electric cars that had been released
for a few years at that point. The story went that the manufacturers were discontinuing
them because there was no demand, while at the other end consumers were complaining
there was no supply. There was a missing link here. Who on Earth would benefit
from the failure of electric cars? My mental fingers pointed to the oil companies.
Think also on the Kyoto Accord. Alberta premier Ralph Klein has been throwing quite the tantrum over the whole ordeal. Here's the thing: oil will run out. Sooner or later. We will have to adapt to it someday. Ignoring Kyoto just means that when the time comes, everyone else who ratified it will have developed technologies to compensate for it already, and they will be Selling them to Us, as opposed to Us Selling to Them. Why would any Good Capitalist put themselves in that position? Honestly, it's like prostituting yourself while dreaming of being a bride!
