| OVERVIEW: | In the beginning of the episode we see a failed synchronizaation test of another pilot named Rei of another Eva called Eva-00. In this mishap, Gendou got his hand injured after trying to save Rei and opened an overheated entry-plug port door. In this incident, Gendou's glasses cracked and it is this glasses that Shinji discovered in Rei's room when he visited her in her place. Rei treasures Gendou's glasses very much. Near the end of the episode the 5th Angel attacked and Shinji's Eva-01 was heavily damaged after being hit by an intense particle beam. |
