Heh heh... i couldn't stop laughing when I read this paragraph. It is
exactly what I think about Final Fantasy VII(heh heh... I bet you knew
this was coming, eh Josh?)
PSX has a large user base. Backed by a huge advertising campaign, of
course Square sold many many PSXers to buy that game. And the worst part
is... it doesn't resemble the 6 FFs before it(IMHO of course). It didn't
turn me off on the other FFs(well, mainly because I played them), but it
did turn me off of any future FFs(FF8 doesn't interest me at all,
even though graphics look a lot cleaner than FF7)
OTOH, the opposite of the above situation has happened too, ie some people
actually like Final Fantasy 7 and would actually rather play Parasite Eve
than Xenogears. (though I confess I kinda enjoyed the little of PE I
played)
