The secondary charatcers in the animeSecondary Characters (Anime)

The world where Satoshi (Ash) and his friends live in isn't all filled with bad guys and Pokemon; other people are there to help him on his quest, and those who show up in more than one episode are listed here.

Nurse Joy (at least *one* of them, anyways ^^;)Nurse Joy

Joy is a Pokemon Center nurse who's job is to help hurt and injured Pokemon. However, it seems that she's in every single Pokemon Center in the world... Actually, she has a rather large family and all of her sisters seem to be exactly identical! She's always ready to help whenever a desperate trainer needs his poor Pokemon healed up.

Japanese voice actor: Shiraishi Ayako (Linda Yamamoto in Gunbuster)

Professor Ookido (Oak)Professor Ookido (Oak)

Professor Ookido (Oak) is Masara Town's (Pallet Town's) expert on Pokemon; he is the one who prepares prospective Pokemon trainers to go out into the world, although he can be a little absent-minded at times. He offers encouragement to Satoshi (Ash) whenever he can. Satoshi's (Ash's) rival, Shigeru (Gary), is unfortunately Ookido's (Oak's) grandson.

Japanese voice actor: Ishizuka Unshou (Galde Goa Borman in Macross Plus, Donovan in Vampire Hunter Animated Series)

Satoshi's (Ash's) momSatoshi's (Ash's) mom

Anyone know her Japanese or English name? If you do, let me know!

Satoshi's (Ash's) mom is like most mothers in that she cares for her son very much and encourages him to follow his dreams. Satoshi's (Ash's) father was also a Pokemon trainer, but his whereabouts are unknown. She's a tad over-protective, but she means well.

Japanese voice actor: Unknown

Officer Junsa/JennyOfficer Junsa/Jenny

Officer Junsa (Jenny in the English Series) is who to call on if trouble arises. Like Nurse Joy, she has family scattered around the world of Pokemon who look exactly like her, sound like her, and have the same name. Depending on which Junsa (Jenny) Satoshi (Ash) and his friends encounter, her attitude can range from cheerful to overly suspicious, but she's always helpful to them.
