G-Saviour
Format: Television special
Story Date: Universal Century 0223
More Info:
Credits
The first Gundam production to employ live actors and computer graphic mobile suits, G-Saviour is a product of Sunrise's 20th anniversary project. Jointly produced in Japan and the United States, and with an international cast, it's supposed to be shown as a television special at some point. However, thus far this history-making movie has been shown only at a handful of special charity screenings, and in an unfinished form at that. No public release date has been set in either the U.S. or Japan.
The story of G-Saviour is purportedly set in the Universal Century continuity, in the year UC 0223 - seventy years after V Gundam. Researchers at the space colonies of Side Gaia have developed an organic energy source that could meet the needs of the whole human race, and evil conspirators within the Earth Congress seek to control it. The relation of all this to the UC history we've previously seen has yet to be established. Then again, G-Saviour is still a work in progress...
