The Fate of the Earth holds in the hands of this high school sophomore -- Kamui Shirou. He and his mother Tooru left Tokyo 6 years ago due to the tragedy that happened in the Monou family. 2 weeks before Kamui returned to Tokyo, his mother died. And before her death, she urged Kamui, "Go back to Tokyo, your future is waiting for you there." So there he is in Tokyo, where he faces the biggest decision which concerns the Future of the Earth: to become a Dragon of Heaven, or a Dragon of Earth. Kamui has no intention to fight for the sake of the Earth, but he does have someone whom he wishes to protect. The name "Kamui" has 2 meanings: 1) one who represents the majesty of God, 2) one who hunts the majesty of God.
