He is one of the "Dragons of Heaven", the 13th head of the Sumeragi-clan, the topmost onmyouji in Japan. Subaru has had a past with another
onmyouji, Seishirou Sakurazuka. Right now, they stand for their own side, the "Dragon of Heaven" against "Dragon of Earth". Subaru has become quiet and serious after the incident which happened in the past between them (see Tokyo Babylon). Subaru declares that he has no interest in the future of the earth, and maybe there is only one thing he wishes to do -- to kill Sakurazukamori.
