Kyougo Monou
Kyougo Monou is the father of Fuuma and Kotori Monou. He is the master of
Togakushi Shrine. There was a tragedy which happened 6 years ago in the
family in which he lost his wife, Saya. She was killed. As Kamui's mother Tooru said that she should be responsible for Saya's death, they left Tokyo the next day after Saya's death. Kyougo was shocked when he saw Kamui's return, 6 years after his wife's death. In the manga, He was
killed by Nataku on the same day he saw Kamui because Nataku came to
snatch the Holy Sword which Kyougo had spent 6 years protecting. But in
the anime, Kyougo has died one year ago. "Kyou" means "mirror" while "go" means "protect."
