Site layout remake: I have spent the weekend coming up with
a new, frames free, layout for the site. It's now up and running. The
new layout should be easier and faster to use. Also the support for
non-frames capable browser should have improved. I tried navigating
with Lynx and Netscape Communicator 4.04 and they both worked fine.
The fast jump select list, when on an index page, will contain a
link to the batch download page, as well as the link under the
thumbnail picture. If your browser supports javascript, the menu will
jump to the selected page automatically. With all other browsers, you
need to click Go to jump.
I have also improved the batch download page. First of all I remade
the check boxes as a select-list, as the check boxes didn't work on
certain browsers. Secondly I added previous, next and up to index
links, which means that you no longer need to download the thumbnail
picture for each index before batch downloading.
I hope that you like the new layout. If you have any comments or

FTP upload server: There is now a server to which you can upload
new images, movies etc. The server URL is the.animearchive.org port
2121. You don't need any user ID or password to log on, and you
can not download anything, nor overwrite existing files.
Please read and follow the instructions! Also, please note the
non-standard port number! Most FTP programs should have an option to
connect to a separate port.

Lots of new Creamy Mami pictures. Most of them were
submitted by Ryoko. I accidently removed the ones I already had
though. If you have them (creamy??.jpg) and they don't match the ones
that are there right now, feel free to mail them to me!The problem with some series not being batch-downloadable should
be fixed now. Also the Next and Previous buttons didn't always work. Pictures by Chiho Saito submitted by Ryoko. They are really
nice!
I have been working on a new, more compact and functional,
frames layout. Before I make it the default one, I would like people
to try it out. This is how to do it:
- Go to the configure menu.
- Select New frames layout.
- Go to the front page and then back to the configure menu.
- You should now have the new layout (reload might be necessary) and
you can configure the top-frame size to suit your browser.
Please note that this layout needs javascript to be
functional! If you have any comments (good or bad), bug reports or
suggestions on how improve it, send me

The prev/up/next buttons from Forbidden Subjects now also exists
in Ultimate Animanga. Now navigation is easier and browsing is faster.
I also added the selective batch download (you choose which images
you want) as well as the new pkzip method. This means that you
get a zip file with only 8.3 filenames, which makes unpacking for DOS
and / or Windows 3 users easier.

frame with the index-listing. This way it won't scroll off the screen,
hopefully making navigation easier. If you liked it better as it was
before, you can turn it off on the configuration
page.

Important Announcement! I have now made a module that
denies
access to
everyone using user agents matching httpdown,
permansurfer, nearsite, netrecorder, netattache, netjet, teleport or
maurader.
To the best of my knowledge, all of these are site downloaders,
used to download whole sites without user interaction. They SPAM the
site with one or more accesses per second. I don't think this kind of
behaviour is acceptable. If any of the above is NOT a spider, tell me
and I will allow access from that one again. If you know about agents
not on the list that are site downloaders, please tell me about them,
so I can add them.
If you have any problems with this decision, feel free to send a
mail to /dev/null.

Good News! I will start adding new series and images again during
the next week. You can expect to see many new additions to the archive
in the near future.If you use http://the.animearchive.org/, you will notice that
all inlined images (except in the slideshow and when you view a single
image) have their sized set. This is done automagically by Roxen and is possible because the
images now are on the same computer as the rest of the archive.
Hopefully this will make browsing of the archive more enjoyable.There is now a mailing list to which I will send updates to. This
is a replacement for the URL minder service that doesn't work very
well (EXTREMELY slow!). Read the italic text on the top of this page
to get information about how to join the list.
This is a one way list only. I might create a discussion list or
two in the near future, though.

The server at http://the.animearchive.org/ has been upgraded to
run Roxen. I made some things now not work, and as I didn't know that
it had been upgraded, I haven't fixed it till now. Sorry for the
temporarely downtime!I remade the the Dou indexes with only 20
pictures per page instead of 40. As a result, every single page is
smaller and there are 16 pages instead of 20.

Fixed a misfeature on http://se.animearchive.org/ which made most
of the images not work. Wonder how long it has been like that
(strangely I got no reports about it either). Anyway, sorry about
that!Remade the guestbook slightly. The only user-noticable change is
that entries are "stripped" after 30 days, which means that the
comments and my answer, if any, is removed. This is to save diskspace
and memory.
Also I get a mail when someone signs it, which means that I will
read all the entries as they come in and possibly also answer them.
Finally the guestbook was moved from the X-Mission server to the
Infovav server.

The "No such file" page has been improved, and I have added some
fuzzy magic, to make it easier to find the file you looked for. I have
also added some thing to check before you send the bug report to me.
Hopefully this will lessen the amount of 'Where is /hental/index.htm?'

them. I hope these buttons are easier to read than the old ones.

The guestbook is online again. Also
changed it so you only see 20 messages at a time (so now you can
actually read it again!)New hentai series added: The Seek
Series.Here comes some bad news =( The 500 MB disk that the archive is
housed on has come to it's limit. I don't currently have any more
disks that I can use, although I soon might have another GB. Until
then I won't be able to add any more images (well, actually there is
8MB left on the disk, so I can squeeze in some more pics!). If you
happen to have a couple of GB's of SCSI disk that you don't use, I
would really appreciate a donation! ;-)
Moved the images from City Hunter to a
more correct page (images by Tsukasa Hojo).
To make up for this loss I added 93 fresh images that really are from
City Hunter! Enjoy!

I have made buttons for the upper frame instead of the text
buttons. They come in two sizes, normal and large. If you (as me) sit
on a computer with high resolution (1600x1280 on a 17" screen), you
can go to the configure page and choose large buttons instead.
If you have problems reading the buttons, tell me and I might
remake them.I am finally settled in the US and I got my computer!
