Marmalade Boy (Ribon Macot Comics) is a 8 volumes manga created by Wataru YOSHIZUMI, published in the shoujo monthly magazine Ribbon after Handsome na Kanojo.

In rough sketches, Marmalade Boy is the story of Miki, a normal school girl whose parents one day announce that they're being divorced and then married with another couple that happens to be very good friends of college but that separated later. ^^

It also results that the other couple also has a son of Miki's age, Yuu.

Three years ago Miki declared her love to her classmate Ginta, but put the letter in a wrong magazine and all the boys readed it resulting in Ginta declaring not to love her while Miki was hearing them. But now, being her best male friend is not enough and he declares his love for her clearing the misunderstanding three years ago.

But Miki has already fallen in love with Yuu and can't correspond Ginta.

Arimi, an ex-classmate of Yuu and in love with him tryes to provoque his jealousy by looking like going out with Ginta, but at the end things go wrong and she finishes going out with him for real! ^_- In the other hand, Meiko, Miki best friend, who was having a romantic relationhip with one of the teachers is discovered and her love moves away. Miki and Yuu declare their love and get involved *^^*

After some more misunderstandings, Meiko gets to marry her teacher and Yuu discovers some old photos that implies to him that he's the son of Miki's father and his mother right before they separated, and so he decides to brake up with Miki and go to Kyoto. But he's asked to return home and there he finishes explaning Miki what happens. Miki and Yuu decide to continue their relationship though they're brother and sister with the promise of not having childs. But when they announce it to the family, the truth of Yuu's birth is revealed and they are free to marry, have childs and whatever they want ^^

The anime.

Marmalade Boy is a TV serie, collected in 3 LD Boxes, and a movie (though it's only half an hour long...) that goes about Yuu seeing Miki and falling in love with her before they meet for real in the anime ^^

It's avalaible in fan-sub format by Tomodachi anime, though they have been discounting tapes... ^^; But for the best information about this anime and manga I really recomend the Marmalade Boy Guide, where you can find everything, including a little FAQ of the story, synopsis of the episodes, diferences between manga and anime storyline... ^_- Go and get it! ^^ You can find it here, go to "Tomodachi stuff" and you'll find two versions, plain text and a Claris Works version. Both zipped and accessed via FTP. ^^
